Backstory

Born within Gridania as the son of a Wood Wailer and a local merchant, time saw Tarellaine grow up to become a lancer like his father. Losing both parents to the Seventh Umbral Calamity shortly thereafter, he dedicated himself to the Order of the Twin Adder, becoming a skilled Bard nigh without peer.Seeking ancient and distant relations within the newly re-opened Ishgard, Tarellaine became embroiled in the Dragonsong War. Establishing ties in the region, elements of his past that are... perhaps less formal than he'd like, led to him joining the new Machinist's Guild, and opening the Red Rose Tavern within Ishgard.Though rarely traveling far from where his duty as an officer of the Twin Adders takes him, he nevertheless is beginning to look farther abroad for opportunities to advance his professional (and, though he won't admit it, personal) life, including the opening of a new tea room in Kugane.
